How can you get involved in Beach of Dreams?

Join us in asking,“How can we creatively reimagine our future?”

Whether you’re an individual, a community, or an organisation, there are numerous ways to get involved with Beach of Dreams. Join our vibrant network of groups and organizations across the UK, each bringing their coastlines to life. Contribute your own design to our expanding national artwork, host your own event, or simply attend the programme starting in May 2025.

Dive in and leave your mark on this extraordinary coastal journey.

1. Join our network of organisations across the UK

By joining Beach of Dreams, you’ll become part of a vibrant community, gaining access to a dynamic network that fosters skill-building and idea exchange through monthly seminars led by thought leaders.

In collaboration with Kinetika, we will help you create meaningful opportunities for local exploration and creative expression. Each organisation will host events or activities, gather local stories and develop climate pledges to help future generations in their area.

2. Be  part of a national artwork:
The Beach of Dreams Silks

Join the national artwork project led by Kinetika and contribute your own silk pennants to our growing collection—620 and counting.

The Beach of Dreams Silks are dynamic and evolving national artwork by Kinetika: the installation of hundreds of naturally dyed silk pennants. Designed to be mobile, each pennant tells a story, representing an individual’s dream intricately tied to a specific part of our beloved coastline. Together, these dreams form a national tapestry of hope and inspiration for our shared future.

In summer and autumn 2024, you’ll have the opportunity to create your own silk pennant working with Kinetika. As we approach May 2025, your designed pennant will be returned to you for display at your local creative activities, walks, and events.

3. Organise your own event

Gather your friends, family, or community group and plan your own Beach of Dreams activities along your local stretch of coast in May 2025. You could organise creative nature walks, picnics, writing workshops, outdoor performances, beachcombing sessions, litter picks, mudlarking, or visits to coastal treasures. The possibilities are endless—design an event that both celebrates our coastlines while fostering meaningful dialogue about our shared environmental future.
