About
Morecambe Bay’s coastline is an ever-changing environment, home to an abundance of unique wildlife, diverse communities and a host of contemporary and future pressures.
Join local artist Debbie Yare and Morecambe Bay Partnership’s Joseph Earl as we Drift through this dynamic coastal landscape. Starting from Hest Bank Shore, we’ll walk together along the edge of Morecambe Bay to Bolton-le-Sands marsh, our path marked with pennants made during 2023’s Bay Lines: Beach of Dreams.
During our journey, we will take a closer look at this environment and consider our own relationships to it. Through drawings, written words and discussion, we will explore different ways we can experience, observe, contemplate, and even communicate with the coastal environment and species that live amongst it.
The walk is approximately 2km one-way and will take around two hours . Participants are invited to join Debbie & I on the return journey (which will take much less time!) or stay for coffee at Bolton-le-Sands.

Access & Accessibility
The walk will involve traversing over a rough, uneven coast path. There will also be stiles en-route, so good mobility is a must. It can also be wet, muddy and windy on the Bay so we recommend suitable shoes and clothing for walking in all weather. Please note that dogs are not allowed & the minimum recommended age is 16 years +.
