About

The Bay of Colwyn Town Council, having declared a climate and nature emergency, sees Beach of Dreams as a way to spark vital conversations on climate, nature, and how our communities impact the coast.

Beach of Dreams is coming to Prom Xtra this May, bringing an inspiring celebration of creativity, community, and coastal heritage to Bay of Colwyn Coastline. This national project, which weaves together art, storytelling, and environmental awareness, will feature prominently as part of Prom Xtra’s exciting lineup.

At the heart of the Bay of Colwyn Beach of Dreams event is a breath taking display of silk pennants, each uniquely designed by local people to reflect their deep connection to the coastline. These vibrant flags will take pride of place on the beach near Porth Eirias, forming a striking visual journey through the hopes, dreams, and heritage of our coastal communities.

At 12pm, don’t miss a very special performance of the digital soundscape created especially for the day by renowned sound artist Jason Singh. This immersive experience will bring the landscape to life through sound, deepening the connection between people, place, and nature.

Visitors can also engage with community groups in the Eco Zone, discovering the stories behind the designs and exploring the project’s environmental themes. This initiative perfectly complements Prom Xtra’s focus on well-being, sustainability, and celebrating the unique identity of Colwyn Bay.

By bringing Beach of Dreams to Prom Xtra, we’re creating a space where art, community, and nature come together in a truly meaningful way. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this is your chance to experience the magic of storytelling and creativity along our stunning coastline.

Join us this May and be part of something special.
