About
In this workshop you and your group can design and decorate bespoke flags that tells the story of who you are and what living by the coast means to you.
Having declared ourselves as part of the ‘Culture Declares Emergency’ community, we want to provide a safe space to share creative practice, culture and environmental activism. This particular workshop explores hand appliqué, use of fabric pens and painting to decorate and create different flags. We will then walk along the shoreline from Woodend Gallery to The Scarborough Spa and back. This is a time to walk with friends, reflect and take our community and shoreline in our own hands-dreaming of the Scarborough we want for the future.
We encourage you to bring special fabrics or things you would like to add to your flags at the workshop.
Your flags will be included in a short film displayed during the summer exhibition 27th June-22nd August alongside our annual sixth form project.
Suitable for families to do together with children from the age of 7+
